Natural, fun & relaxed wedding photography
I always capture a wedding in a candid and informal way – as it’s important to me that my photographs are a true and beautiful reminder of a couple’s special day!
Firstly, congratulations on deciding to make your love OFFICIAL!
All professional wedding photographers have their own style and approach to wedding photography. For me, I’ve always captured weddings in a natural, fun way, and in doing so every couple’s album looks like their wedding and not simply a collection of staged photographs. If you and your fabulous guests are happy, relaxed and just loving being around one another the photographs will reflect this!
For the most part, I shoot in a documentary or reportage fashion, and in this way I get to capture and freeze forever very real and sometimes fleeting moments – the photographs that you didn’t know were being taken, are very often the ones that mean the most.
Don’t forget you and your guests are going to look fabulous!
When it comes to the romantic side of things or the formal group shots, I still keep things natural and the group shots take no longer than 10 minutes. Your guests will be there because they love you and want to spend quality time with you, reminisce, laugh, and chat on what’ll be a never-to-be-forgotten time in your life, and the more time there is for this, the better.
The ‘couples’ shots are captured in a way that feels like we’re going for a relaxed wander and spontaneously find the perfect spots to take some gorgeous photographs. Again, keeping things natural brings out the best in everyone and I never ask anyone to smile. The whole process should be done in a way that you will be anyway!
I am recommended at The St Michael’s Manor Hotel and Hanbury Manor, both in the county of Hertfordshire and both offering couples a truly special and unique approach to hosting their wedding. Please click below to visit their websites and see for yourself!
A family business
We are a husband and wife team – I love to capture the day (and chat as you’re probably working out for yourself?!) and Jacky equally loves going to work on creating the perfect bespoke album with the pictures of your choice.
We make sure that every album reflects a couple’s day perfectly and the design is sent to the couple for approval prior to the physical album being created by the UK’s leading award-winning lab.
We’ve built a great working relationship with them for over 15 years and they are very much a part of the ‘family’ vibe we have here! Each step of the way needs to be taken with care but also with a smile and it’s for that reason I feel that we get so many lovely comments and messages from our couples (please see our testimonials page) – it’s good for the soul!
There’s nothing better than capturing a couple celebrating their love on their wedding day – in Hertfordshire, Essex, anywhere else in the UK, or destinations abroad.
Whether or not you have set a date for your Big Day, you are very welcome to come and visit our photography studio in Hertford (there’s ample free parking), have a browse through our extensive selection of real life wedding albums and have a cuppa! Our albums are complete wedding albums from many of the stunning local wedding venues including Fanhams Hall Hotel, Hanbury Manor Hotel, Essendon Country Club, St Michael’s Manor, Brocket Hall, to name just a few.
I’m also a destination wedding photographer and have been fortunate enough to capture weddings in Italy, France, Portugal and Ireland – as long as there’s a couple in love, along with their amazing friends and family, I’m there!
If couples do come for a chat I never ask them if they’d like to choose me to capture their Special Day, but instead reserve their date for 3 days afterwards so they can make a relaxed decision. I feel it’s something that should be given consideration, as your wedding photographer will play a very personal and inclusive part of your day. Your wedding photographer should be someone you feel comfortable around and also someone you’d like to invite to your wedding anyway!
If you have any questions at all please feel free to contact me and I’ll be of whatever help I can be.
